''Apamea scoparia'' is a moth of the family Noctuidae. It is one of the most common and widespread North American ''Apamea'', being distributed from Newfoundland and Labrador to Alaska and British Columbia, and south to California and Arizona.〔Mustelin, T., et al. 2000. Two new genera and thirteen new species of owlet moths (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) mainly from southern California. ''Proceedings of the San Diego Society for Natural History'' 36: 1–18.〕 The moth is dull brick-red. The glandular coremata produce a scent described as "somewhere between vinegar and carrots".〔 ==References==
